My Simple Birthday Cake

This morning, I bumped into my friend, R, after dropping my children off at school. We have known each other since uni days, and now her son is my daughter's schoolmate. :) She asked what I did for my birthday, and I replied that I didn't do much. At our age, I said, such events are non-events.

"But did you bake a cake?" she asked.

"Yes, and it was a very simple one."

She gave me a look of disbelief. But really, it was a very simple cake! I didn't intend to blog about it because it was a repeat of the Hot Milk Sponge Cake that I made recently.

But for what they are worth, I'm putting up these test shots I took with my new camera. Yes, this was the first thing I photographed. Great way to start, huh?



I baked it slightly longer (like 7mins more, haha) and I managed to get it more golden this time.


Spongy and soft ... my kind of cake.



After celebrating one birthday after another the past month, I just wanted something simple for mine. Besides, being able to bake means that you don't have to wait till your birthday to have the cake of your dreams! :)
